New Years Resolution - Hike the Bruce Trail

 So Vicky and I were sitting on the couch the day after boxing day, feeling slightly hung over from all the wine the night before, and very bloated from all the turkey and chocolate.  Vicky said "will you do the Scarsdale diet with me", and I said "I will if you will hike the Bruce with me", and so it began.

The Bruce Trail is 780 km from Queenston Heights to Tobermory.  I figure if we do a couple of 2 hour hikes every week or so (say 8km each), we could hike it in a year.  If it takes a couple of years (or 10), so what?  Here is the map


We both agreed we didn't want to start today, so we are starting tomorrow.  All hiking is socially distanced, so anyone that wants to join us on any given hike is welcome.  

We are going to pre-plan a start and end point for each hike and take two cars so we only need to hike one way.  We're going to create a blog entry here for each hike.  Hike #1 will start a milepost 0 in Queenston Heights.  

We'll start by going 5km to Stamford Townline Road. Then we may continue along the Laura Secord Trail, depending on how energetic we are.
